James C. Hunter, Jr. is a distinguished professional bringing over 23 years of valuable management experience and 18 years as a dedicated IT specialist and network engineer. After an impressive 33-year tenure at Verizon, where he excelled as a Senior Project Manager. At Verizon, James showcased his skills in delivering exceptional customer service, strategic planning, market expansion, and spearheading innovative projects that have transformed the industry.

Following a brief retirement, he embraced a new challenge in IT security and network engineering, demonstrating his remarkable ability to comprehend and construct intricate systems. His focus on large-scale network optimization and robust cybersecurity measures underscores his commitment to safeguarding technology.

James’ educational journey began with a degree in Marketing Management from PG Community College, complemented by a master’s certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. He has further enhanced his credentials through numerous IT certifications, including CCNA, CCDA, CCENT, Security+, Network+, and CompTIA A+. Additionally, he possesses a security clearance from the Department of Defense, affirming his credibility in the field.

For the past two years, James has wholeheartedly volunteered as a teacher at the Gateway Boarding Academy, demonstrating his passion for fostering knowledge and empowering the next generation. James is a native Washingtonian and is born with 7 siblings and one son. In his free time, he enjoys sports, bowling, and traveling. On Sundays, he participates in worship at the Zion Church in Greenbelt, MD. Though naturally reserved, his guiding mantra is, “Let the work I do speak for me,” reflecting his commitment to excellence and impact in every endeavor.
